Monday Music: Diorama – Hope

Diorama – Hope, from the album Even the Devil Doesn’t Care.  Synthpop.

Relevant to many characters here in Book 4.  For the one whose chapter I’m starting right now, I think the ‘hope’ is that things will somehow go back to the way they once were.  Which, of course, is impossible.

Lyrics:

Everyone else has entered, and you’re still waiting at the door
You carried something in you that isn’t needed anymore
You could swear the city is pulsing louder than before
You carried something in you that isn’t needed anymore

Is it your hope, your hope, that you can’t keep in check?
Is it your hope, your hope, that won’t give you anything back?

There’s a great day coming to wipe the blindspot off your eye
And there’s a great day coming, and you will see the reason why
You carried something in you that isn’t needed anymore
And there’s a great storm coming you’d better start to gear up for

Is it your hope, your hope, that you can’t keep in check?
Is it your hope, your hope, that won’t give you anything back?
